I think that's not so clear in what I wrote. When I said 'We don't merely want the "people to decide"' I mean what happens now.  Rousseau's notion that the English are only free during elections. I want us to be free in our own lives and decisions between elections too! But I'm not talking about some kind of direct democracy, just the right to "personal sovereignty".
