 <description>&lt;p&gt;I agree that&amp;#39;s probably the pragmaic answer.  Though it probably has to be carefully weighed up against the possibility that a &amp;quot;proper coalition&amp;quot; might get some of our program implemented that would otherwise not.  For example, although again unlikely, I see people calling for us to consider a coalition if we can get a cast iron deal on PR, say.&lt;/p&gt;

 <description>&lt;p&gt;I have often thought that Labour and the Tories are most suited to a grand coalition rather than either with the LibDems. The prospects of this are slim however with so many members of each party hating the other.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Personally I think we should support whichever party gets the most votes on an issue by issue basis provided we could support their Queen&#039;s Speech.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;That way a hung parliament with a Tory minority government would hopefully abolish ID cards etc yet we wouldn&#039;t be obliged to support them on things we disagree on (and we won&#039;t have the prospect of disunity over joining a government with either party - I cannot stomach a coalition with Labour at the moment, and the Tories are not our natural allies at the moment - despite some areas of similarity and some historical links (Churchill, Lib-Tory pacts to keep Liberal seats etc)&lt;/p&gt;
